Sharron Grainger psychotherapist

Sharron Grainger is the Connolly Counselling Centre’s lead Psychologist and Psychotherapist.

Within her private clinical practice Sharron specialises in (CBT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helping individuals to develop psychological resilience to depression, low mood, anxiety, panic attacks, trauma and PTSD. Sharron is also a qualified couples/marriage and relationships therapist, helping couples who present with issues including communication difficulties, infidelity, separation, divorce, childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence and financial difficulties.

Sharron offers non-judgemental and confidential psychological counselling and psychotherapy; and provides a safe space for individuals to work through their issues whilst drawing from a wide range of integrated treatment options which allows her to adapt her therapeutic approach to the needs and problems of the individual.  These approaches include CBT, Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Choice Theory and Systemic perspectives, as appropriate. Sharron uses her clinical expertise, evidence-based, practice guidelines, and client’s goals to determine the most suitable treatment approach. She offers time-limited therapy which is goal orientated or longer-term therapy according to the client’s needs. She supports a collaborative approach to the therapeutic process, working with clients to come to a shared understanding of the cause and maintenance of their difficulties and working together to find a way forward to promote wellbeing.

Sharron is also certified in the use of General Biofeedback and EEG Neurofeedback training and is the only therapist in Ireland certified to BCIA standards offering Biofeedback therapy as an adjunct to CBT.  She also incorporates General Biofeedback training as required.
