Tanae Salvetti

tanae salvetti trainee counsellor

Tanaë is currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Pluralistic Counselling & Psychotherapy in IICP College. French & American, she has been living in Ireland since 2015. She can support you in both English and/or French.

Before initiating this MSc., Tanae studied midwifery for 4 years and psychology for a year in order to obtain a BSc. Health Sciences from UCD. She then obtained a BSc. in Psychology in Paris as well as her HDip. in Brief Systemic Strategic Therapy (Palo Alto’s approach).

Tanae also trained in sophrology: an approach close to mindfulness / hypnosis, that incorporates body movements; it focuses on the link between body and mind and aims to develop consciousness, raise self-awareness and increase environment awareness through respiration exercises associated with specific body movements and visualisation exercises.

While studying midwifery, Tanae developed a strong interest in the mental health of future and young parents. She decided to change career path to become a psychologist / psychotherapist when she realised that working in a busy ward wouldn’t provide her enough time to care for expectant parents struggling with their journey into parenthood. She then gained experience with more varied populations and problematics during her training: such as relationship issues, burnout, highly sensitive people, multiculturalism / expatriation, anxiety, depression and bullying.

Tanae can help you work through difficulties encountered during the transition to parenthood whether you are a woman or man (eg infertility, perinatal loss, birth trauma, evolution of relationships and roles, etc.), anxiety, work-related stress, difficulties linked to high sensitivity or multiculturalism / expatriation. She believes that embracing a person centred approach is key to developing a good therapeutic relationship. Her main approach is brief systemic strategic therapy, but she has a pluralistic approach to care which means that she incorporates different approaches and tools in her practice while also discussing with you the therapeutic process to make sure it suits you at all times.

Tanaë has been endorsed by IICP to see clients, has been Garda Vetted, and has an active student membership with IACP.
