Simona Ferretti

Simona’s background in Social Studies and Psychology sparked a deep interest in how personal experiences and family relationships influence one another. This curiosity led to pursue further training to become a Family Therapist. Currently in her third year of a four-year Master’s programme in Systemic Psychotherapy at UCD, Simona works with individuals, couples, and families with or without children (infants to adolescents), with a particular focus on supporting them through emotional and relational challenges.

Simona is especially attentive to how patterns from past generations can shape present-day relationships, and how therapy can help families understand and shift these patterns when they are feeling stuck and unable to move on. Her work, helping clients make sense of difficult experiences in a safe and respectful space, often involves exploring the impact of trauma, navigating change and mental health difficulties, conflict, or emotional distress.

Recognising that individual’s values are strongly influenced by social interactions, she brings a collaborative-dialogical style, encouraging open conversations where every voice is heard and valued. She adopts an integrative approach to practice, using concepts and interventions from a range of theories in the Family Therapy tradition that afford great flexibility, especially when working with complex cases. Her aim is to help families build stronger connections, improve communication, and find new ways of relating.

Simona brings warmth, curiosity, and a thoughtful presence to her work. She is committed to creating a supportive environment where clients feel understood and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives and relationships.
