Laura holds a diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, an (Hons) degree in Journalism and Visual Media, and a CELTA in Teaching English. She worked as a journalist before moving to Canada to lecture in English and Media Studies.
Upon returning to Ireland, Laura began training in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Since graduating she has completed seminars in anxiety and stress reduction, and continues to attend professional development courses regularly. Laura is also a registered member of the IACP.
Laura welcomes anyone who feels distressed or is experiencing a block in their life, in whatever form that may be. She offers a caring and supportive environment, and her sessions are confidential and non-judgemental. She draws on her professional knowledge, personal experience, and integrative counselling theory and skills to help clients get a better understanding of their issues and how they might be resolved. She has extensive experience dealing with a range of issues from anxiety and addiction, to depression and trauma; and uses an integrative approach incorporating treatment modalities such as CBT, psychodynamic, person-centred, gestalt, humanistic and existential psychotherapy.
Laura is available for individual and Skype counselling sessions where appropriate.
