Kate is a fully trained and qualified psychotherapist, following a post-graduate diploma in psychotherapy and counselling with Dublin City University.
She holds a degree in Education & Training and a degree in Clinical Psychology.
She is accredited by IACP.
Kate has worked in many areas such as; addiction, cancer care, mental health services and private practice.
Kate is a trauma-informed psychotherapist, using a humanistic person-centred approach with her clients. Kate works with clients with a wide range of issues, in an emotional and physical safe space. She specialises in many areas, but particularly in; bereavement, suicide, loss & grief, addiction, depression, anxiety, adoptions, and trauma.
Relationship with client is key in the counselling process and is central to Kate’s work as a therapist. Her work includes, person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, brief-solution focused therapy and psychodynamic therapies.
