Owen Connolly – Conference Speaker

For any of you who have visited the Centre or have been following our blog for some time, it will come as no surprise to hear that Owen Connolly is a sought after conference speaker and workshop facilitator within the mental health field. For those who may not be aware to it, Owen Connolly is not only the founder of the Connolly Counselling Centre, but he has decades of experience as a counselling psychologist and has written two books. One of these books, “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants”, was extensively featured on this blog in the past and is a helpful resources for fathers.

Owen’s most-requested speaking subjects centre around his interest and expertise in trauma, particularly that trauma experienced as part of the birth process and in childhood, and in male psychology, especially helping fathers to embrace their role as dads in family life. Owen speaks and presents extensively on these two topics, both at events and in the media.

Owen’s most recent engagements were as workshop speaker at the Male Psychology Conference 2019 held at University College London 21-22 June, and as Keynote Speaker at the 22nd World Conference on Psychology and Behavioural Science held 31 July – 1 August in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

At the Male Psychology Conference, Owen presented 2 workshops. One workshop was on Biofeedback for Trauma and the other was on Fatherhood, covering many of the topics from his book.

Owen’s keynote address at the 22nd World Congress focused on Re-set Therapy, which deals with infantile post-traumatic stress. Owen has been a pioneer in this field.
