Student Counselling Services

student counselling services connolly centre

The Connolly Counselling Centre offers specialised counselling services for students through a collaboration with university counselling services. We offer one-to-one confidential and non-judgemental support for registered students who are referred to us with both personal and/or academic concerns. Of course, our therapists are also available for appointments with students in a private capacity.

Attending college or university is a major life change for most young people, with many moving away from home and/or away from their friendship group. If you feel you need additional support or that you cannot ask for support from family or friends, counselling provides an opportunity to speak confidentially with a professional about things that are worrying or upsetting you. Talking to people who are trained to listen to problems can deepen your understanding of what is happening and help you to develop alternative ways of dealing with the situation. Many of our therapists have in-depth experience with the type of issues that typically affect students. These issues can be related to the following:

  • anxiety,
  • loneliness,
  • homesickness,
  • relationship issues,
  • addictions,
  • bullying,
  • poor body image,
  • bereavement,
  • exam stress, etc.

As counselling is most beneficial when you attend consistently, rather than sporadically, it is important that you attend all your scheduled counselling appointments. Contact us today to make an appointment.
