Aoife Ni Riain

Aoife is in her final year of the Bsc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at IICP college. She is currently completing her placement at the Connolly Counselling Centre. Aoife holds a Msc in Guidance and Counselling and works as a Guidance Counsellor in a second-level school. She holds a certificate in CBT and has completed short courses in Suicide Awareness, Self-Harm and Anxiety.

Aoife began her career as a secondary level teacher and also worked in the fitness industry as an instructor and a personal trainer. Through these careers, she developed a deep understanding of the importance of safe and supportive relationships for personal growth or any positive change. This understanding is at the heart of Aoife’s therapeutic approach. Aoife adopts an integrative approach and will always aim to meet the client where they are at.

Aoife’s warm and open manner helps to create a safe and non-judgemental space for her clients. She believes that when a person feels truly accepted and heard, they will feel safe to tentatively explore issues that may be affecting their peace of mind and quality of life.
