David J. Carey, Psy.D - Consultant Psychologist
Dr. Carey was formerly the Coordinator of Special Education at the Froebel College of Education, a primary teaching training college in Dublin. Dr. Carey currently lectures on the masters in educational psychology programme at University College Dublin.
David brings to the clinic 30 years experience in both educational and clinical settings. The addition of Dr. Carey to our staff makes it possible to offer educational assessments for school-age children and adolescents. Psychological assessments of adults for clinical purposes is also available.
He is a recognised expert in ADHD and autism, providing input into educational programmes for children with special education needs and is available to represent parents at school meetings. He provides counselling and psychotherapy services to older children, adolescents and adults. His practice includes cognitive-behaviour therapy and hypnosis for stress relief, weight loss and habit control.
David is a recognised expert witness in the High Court of Ireland and Northern Ireland, representing children and adults in educational and criminal proceedings.
